‘The theme, Making as Learning, invites members of the 62 Group of Textile Artists to reflect on their creative processes, drawing inspiration from their personal archives—be it notes, samples, yarn wraps, dye recipes, film stills, journals, or sketchbooks. This exhibition explores the tangible and intangible qualities of the making process, questioning what can be learned from our methods as they evolve or disintegrate over time.’

Celebration of Life, Brompton Chapel“Partnering with The Royal Society of Sculptors, the ‘Celebration of Life’ exhibition at the Brompton Chapel is a collective response to the time of year when the veil between the living and the dead is at its most permeable.&#38;nbsp; Also supported by The Royal Parks and The Friends of Brompton Cemetery, the Chapel will host two special, consecutive exhibitions to reflect the narrative of loss - from initial grief and shock towards healing through community and the power of ritual.”

20 Years of Cavaliero Finn, London Craft Week
“In 2004, Juliana Cavaliero and Debra Finn curated their first exhibition as Cavaliero Finn in a home in South London and they haven't looked back since. For this exhibition, Cavaliero Finn returned to its South London roots to celebrate its 20th birthday at Stockwell Studio.&#38;nbsp; The exhibition featured a wide range of artists who have shown with the gallery over the last 20 years including work by our current portfolio of artists and work from some of our earlier artists, like painters Holly Frean, Daisy Cook and Caroline Popham, paper artist Thurle Wright, designer makers Sam Edkins and Deborah Bowness,&#38;nbsp; and sculptors Tom Stogdon, Danuta Solowiej, Merete Rasmussen and Patricia Volk who returned to the gallery as guest artists for this show. The exhibition also included an installation by textile artist Isabelle Fletcher and new work by Lise Herud Braten, the most recent additions to the Cavaliero Finn portfolio.”

Early WorksHaving studied Fashion Design at BA level, Isabel’s early work took the form of clothing, presented as immersive installations often working with dancers, musicians and videographers. Although Isabel’s more recent work has moved away from the body, the interest in the three-dimensionality of textiles, and how they exist in space remains. 	ArtHouse Jersey


Folded and Draped: Jersey Waste Garments.
In July 2022 I undertook a residency at ArtHouse Jersey as part of the ‘Where Waste Meets Design’ exhibition.&#38;nbsp; The exhibition showcased the potential of waste materials sourced from the island, and my brief was to make garments using these materials. &#38;nbsp;
 I created a pair of sculptural pieces which explore the contrasting properties such as drape, opacity and texture in the waste materials I worked with.&#38;nbsp;The materials were manipulated through folding and draping to create sculptural silhouettes which play with light and shadow in the exhibition space.MaterialsWetsuits, sails, parachutes, buoy.Date of ProductionJuly 2022

TOAST has long viewed their garments as a resource to recycle rather than waste.As part of their ongoing partnership with Crafts Council UK, TOAST asked eight experienced textile artists from across the world to renew pieces from their archive collection. Using remnant fabric, each faulty garment has been repaired, renewed and transformed using a variety of textile techniques.In keeping with my unique style and artistic approach, I renewed a pair of dungarees, a coat and a shirt with intricate appliqué, quilting and hand stitch techniques. 
The finished pieces were auctioned online, with all proceeds donated to Crafts Council UK.

Appliqué Cotton Parka. Size 10. Italian-woven, midweight, water resistant cotton blend. Paths of stitching throughout and canvas patchworking by Isabel Fletcher. Taking inspiration from the overlooked details of the everyday, Isabel’s textile works often expose raw edges and visible stitches. Using offcuts and discarded fabrics as her starting point, she allows the unique shape, colour and texture of the fabric to inform her compositions. The parka has an easy, roomy cut, for layering underneath or as you will. Button tab to fasten at front neck, and button down with four corozo buttons. Flapped pockets, drawstring at inner waist and a large hood. Full length sleeves.

Appliqué Denim Dungarees. Size 10. Mediumweight, indigo-dyed, organic cotton with colourful applique patches throughout. The dungarees have easy, straight legs with four pockets in the trouser. They have a central bib pocket, adjustable straps and three buttons to fasten at the right side.
